For our Swiss Pre-Sales Team we are looking for a SE-Manager based in Zurich, Switzerland.

The position is suited for a highly motivated individual with previous leadership experience, who can demonstrate the ability to work autonomously.  The individual must show a strong passion to lead a growing team of Pre-Sales consultants across the region.

The individual must demonstrate leadership skills on people, technology and sales strategy as well as execution. The individual will report to the Systems Engineering Director DACH.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an ongoing education, mentoring and training plan for the team and individuals within the Pre-Sales Team. Facilitate a continual flow of valuable information to ensure the teams solution knowledge is maintained to the highest level.
  • Maintain internal communications between all stakeholders, from sales execution through delivery, support and development.
  • Take an architectural lead on major accounts to support and provide the existing account team in place with high level advice and guidance
  • Build and maintain relationships with Design authorities within Riverbed’s key accounts and partners to elevate the value and vision of Riverbed within these accounts.
  • Continually strive to improve and monitor the capabilities of the Pre-Sales team, expanding their technical, soft and business skills
  • Participate in account planning and reviews to assist in presenting a technical view of the account and relating this view to Customer’s key business requirements.
  • Responsible for input into performance reviews of individuals and the establishment and monitoring of their personal development plans.
  • Improve the quality and success of Pre-Sales engagements such as proof of Concepts and RFP’s
  • Support the collection and supply of competitive information

  • Proven consultative selling skills
  • Proven experience with complex enterprise application solutions
  • Awareness of the competitive landscape within the performance management market
  • CxO engagement capability
  • Demonstrable commercial acumen
  • Ability to turn business issues into technical solutions
  • Ability to develop collaborative relationships both internal and external
  • Excellent presentation skills (planned and ad-hoc)
  • Ability to navigate and manage technical issues internally and externally.

Functional Skills

  • Customer focused. Ability to understand customer needs (internally and externally) and proactively deliver a technical community to drive ‘Technical Closure’ of regional sales opportunities
  • Proven management disciplines
  • Proactive engagement in opportunity management, forecasting, reviews, account planning etc
  • Proactive balancing of resource demands. Ensuring the available resources are aligned to the regional revenue goals

 

Technical/Business Knowledge

  • Have knowledge of Riverbed IT Performance Solutions, product line offering, Application performance criteria.
  • Thorough competitive knowledge including industry, technologies and product offerings, evolving technologies
  • Understand and be conversant about company, its solutions, and product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.
  • Must have a clear understanding of selling cycles, selling strategies and the skills and responsibilities of an AM and SE team.
  • Education typically requires BS/BA (EE/CS) or equivalent.
  • MBA or equivalent highly desirable.
  • Experience 10+ years related experience.
