About this Position

Staff Accountant, Singapore

 

Position Summary

 

  • This position reports directly to the Director, APJ Accounting. This position will get overall general accounting and reporting responsibility for Riverbed Singapore accounting records. This includes month end closing activities regarding Balance Sheet Accounts and Profit & Loss Accounts. Month end closing activities and reporting are performed according to US GAAP. In addition, this position is responsible for annual reporting under Singapore GAAP,
  • This position is responsible for providing support to the APJ countries by applying generally accepted accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare accurate and timely financial reports and statements, and ensure appropriate internal control procedures. This position will be expected to exhibit the highest professional standards, ethical principles, and attention to detail while working on numerous routine and ad hoc accounting support functions. Other valued attributes that we are seeking are a strong work ethic, capacity to get things done independently, and consistent performance with a sense of urgency and commitment.

 


Responsibilities

  • Ensure correct and timely accounting in Oracle
  • Manage the local Accounts Payable process
  • Perform Account Reconciliation and analysis
  • Validate and record Travel and Expenses in line with Corporate policy
  • Calculate and post overhead allocations
  • Monitor and review automated postings
  • Monitor overhead expenses, incl. posting of accruals when necessary
  • Analyze fluctuations in overhead expenses and provide explanations
  • Preparation of Documentation and Back up for the Intercompany process
  • Prepare data for statistics and year end audits
  • Act as contact point for tax department, local team members and external auditors
  • Ensure integrity of internal control processes and compliance
  • Responsible for month-end close procedures, including preparation of monthly journal entries, payables, account reconciliations, and analysis of results.
  • Preparation of monthly financial statements and other deliverables
  • Contribute in the preparation of required filings
  • Prepare relevant schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits, work closely with internal/ external auditors and tax authorities
  • Support accounting team’s commitment to timely and accurate processing of accounting transactions in accordance with IFRS/GAAP and internal controls.
  • Ensure compliance for statutory and tax related work
  • Proactively identify issues and implement process improvements to streamline accounting process.
  • Help establish and maintain policies and procedures
  • Support the Director on ad-hoc projects and/ or daily tasks
  • Perform other special projects and analyses as directed

 

Requirements

  • Professional accounting qualifications or finance
  • 4+ years Singapore accounting experience
  • In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience with Oracle R12 is a plus
  • Must have the ability to execute multiple tasks and adhere to strict deadlines in a fast-paced, challenging environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationship across the organization
  • Proactive, assertive, and creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office Products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook)
