    About this Position

     

    • Support and lead large scale enterprise transactions.
    • Gain a deep understanding of the customer’s business as well as their technical environment and map Riverbed performance management solutions to customers business drivers.
    • Identify customer outcomes of Riverbed performance management solutions based on customer specific business value and ROI analysis studies.
    • Provide technical leadership, ownership and management of Proof of Concepts for key customers for the Riverbed performance management solutions with the goal of demonstrating solution fit and business value.
    • Demonstrate the value of Riverbed performance management solutions to both Technical managers and IT Architects, as well as Business-Level IT stakeholders (Application teams, Development teams, LOB teams that rely on applications, C-Level execs)
    • Stay abreast of competitors and the performance management industry and trends, to serve as a trusted advisor to customers. 
    • Guide, coach and lead sales teams in applying the appropriate Riverbed Performance management solutions to customer needs.
    • Partner with the Sales teams during the sales cycle in a supportive position with the focus on pre-sales activities – including (but not limited to) qualification, technical presentations, demonstrations and successful technical closure.
    • Design performance management solutions for customers through RFP responses, architectural diagrams and proposals, and coverage gap analysis.
    • Evangelize new product features & provide customer feedback to Riverbed product management and engineering groups.
    • Partner with channel sales managers to drive enablement of partners to position and demonstrate Riverbed performance management solutions.
    • Participate as a speaker in key company events and other marketing related activity.
    • Become a thought leader both internally and externally around driving business value and customer outcomes with Riverbed performance management solutions
    • Engage regularly and proactively with the SE and Sales leadership.
    • Ensure that accurate & regular reports are completed and submitted as per business processes.
    • Able to travel primarily in [COUNTRY] but also in other parts of [GEO] as required.

     

    Qualifications

    • Experience in a pre-sales role, with a deep understanding of enterprise software sales cycles and various selling strategies.
    • Ability to present technical concepts in in a simple, storytelling, customer outcome focussed and use case oriented way way to technical, non-technical, and executive audiences.
    • Awareness of end user and application performance problems and their impact on revenue, cost and company brand
    • Extensive IT and applications experience; Strong knowledge in at least two of the following:
      • Common Java or .NET web application architecture frameworks, distribution mechanisms and messaging components such as servlets, struts, Spring, EJB, web services, RMI, JMS, MQ-Series, NET, ASMX, WCF, MSMQ, etc
      • Python scripting
      • Recent cloud based technology experience. AWS, Azure, Docker, Mesos, Kubernetes, Openstack, Cloud Foundry and Openshift preferred.
      • Web technologies (server side and client side) such as Java Servlets, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax, HTTP protocol and the RESTful architectural style
      • Application testing and QA solution
      • Database design, SQL and data access practices
      • Hands-on experience on competitive end user experience, device performance monitoring and/or application performance management solutions.
      • Experience in IT transformation projects, such as e.g. Office365 migration, Windows 10 migration, etc. is preferable.
      • Network and infrastructure performance monitoring and analysis is preferable.
      • Endpoint management and understanding of client management technologies such as Microsoft SCCM is preferable.
    • Proven consultative skills from prior performance engineering engagements in presales or professional services.
    • Ability to understand complex technical and selling situations and the ability to solve the problem or solicit the required resources.
    • Demonstrated ability to implement, drive and track IT projects to successful closure.
    • Relevant competitive knowledge, including: industry, technologies and product offerings, evolving technologies, and threats.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, negotiation and presentation skills.
    • Outgoing personality and passionate about technical sales and working with customers
    • Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE or related area.
    • Fluent/Native French or Dutch
