    About this Position

    Riverbed is looking for a presales leader, a key role in supporting our UK business.  The position is suited to a highly motivated individual with previous management and leadership experience, with the ability to lead a growing team of Pre-Sales consultants across EMEA. The individual must demonstrate leadership skills on people, technology and sales strategy as well as execution. The individual will report to the Vice President of Pre-Sales for EMEA, whilst working closely with the UK VP of Sales. 




    • Lead an organization of Solutions Engineers to deliver a world-class presales service to Sales business partners across the UK to achieve revenue growth.
    • Create and drive strategies to achieve Technical wins including account planning, needs analysis, presentation, demonstration, POC, tender response, ROI analysis, competitive strategy and critical account resolution.
    • Take an architectural lead on major accounts, providing high level support and guidance to the account team.
    • Partner with Sales, creating and driving go-to-market strategies and tactics for Riverbed’s solution portfolio in the market.
    • Maintain internal communications between all key stakeholders, from sales execution through delivery, support and development.
    • All aspects of people management for the Solutions Engineering Team to ensure the highest standards of performance including recruitment, performance management, skills development including business, technical, and soft skills, establishing personal development plans.
    • Foster teamwork across the territory, building an effective team committed to organizational goals.
    • Work with peers to contribute to the overall maturation of the broader Riverbed SE organization.
    • Participate in account planning and account reviews and ensure the SE organization makes a strong contribution
    • Responsible for allocation of presales resource to support account managers.
    • Improve the quality of execution and success of Pre-Sales engagements such as proof of Concepts and RFP responses.


    Skills and Knowledge Required


    • Proven ability to lead a diverse technical team
    • Strong communications skills, written and verbal
    • Strong account/relationship management experience
    • Proven consultative selling skills
    • Proven experience selling complex enterprise application solutions
    • Awareness of the competitive landscape within the performance management market
    • CxO engagement capability
    • Demonstrable commercial acumen
    • Ability to bridge between business issues and technical solutions
    • Ability to develop collaborative relationships both internal and external
    • Excellent presentation skills
    • Ability to navigate and manage technical issues internally and externally
    • Industry experience of one or more areas within Riverbed’s portfolio of solutions
    • Minimum of 5-10 years of management experience
